Dixon Stopover

August 18, 2012

Dixon, Illinois: the quintessential American small town. They have a high school that looks like a castle, a replica of the Berlin wall, and a guy who drives a car shaped like a chicken. The Rock River runs through it. Literally. They also have a lively main street, a thriving downtown, and an iconic riverfront park!

And weʼre taking it over, all of it. Weʼre coming in for the weekend with a few of our friends and working with the chefs, brewers, shop owners and people of Dixon to put on an epic, one-day music event that will start at Page Park and spill over into the town.!

Abraham Lincoln gave a famous speech in Dixon, so they built him a statue. Ronald Reagan went to high school there, and they built him a statue too. With any luck the Gentlemen of the Road will be next…!
