“Business owners were overwhelmingly enthusiastic about the Stopover, commending its attention to incorporating places and people in Dixon rather than simply barreling through.”

Dixon, Illinois: the quintessential American small town. They have a high school that looks like a castle, a replica of the Berlin wall, and a guy who drives a car shaped like a chicken. The Rock River runs through it. Literally. They also have a lively main street, a thriving downtown, and an iconic riverfront park!
And weʼre taking it over, all of it. Weʼre coming in for the weekend with a few of our friends and working with the chefs, brewers, shop owners and people of Dixon to put on an epic, one-day music event that will start at Page Park and spill over into the town.!
Abraham Lincoln gave a famous speech in Dixon, so they built him a statue. Ronald Reagan went to high school there, and they built him a statue too. With any luck the Gentlemen of the Road will be next…!
“We’re just excited about it. We got on the website and saw all the things. They highlight the history of Dixon and the parks of Dixon and all the activities. I just think it’s wonderful.”
